Tools

Tools are the hands. They are what let your Clone and its Agents actually do things in the world, not just think about them. Your Clone is your AI double; an Agent is a permanent specialist on its team.

A Skill is the know-how: what to do and how to do it well. A Tool is the means: the hand that carries it out. Know-how without hands is just a good idea. So every Clone and every Agent comes wired with a standard set of hands.

The standard hands

These come built in. Each Clone and each Agent gets them, wired and ready.

Hand	What it lets the team do
Memory hands	Read and write the memory it is allowed to touch. Small, reversible notes are free. Foundational changes ask you first.
File hands	Read your non-sensitive files, the ones you have shared, never the private ones.
Research hands	Search the web and read what it finds, to get outside facts.
Dispatch hand	Call in another Agent for a job, or Tag-In your Clone. Tag-In is the moment your Clone steps in to do work.
Skill and Agent hands	See and load the team's Skills and Agents, pulling in know-how only when a task needs it.
Comms hands	Send you a Report or a Request through your preferred channel, and catch your reply when it comes back.

There are also builder hands, held by the one Agent whose job is creation. They let it build and improve Skills, and stand up new Agents, so the team can grow new abilities over time.

Capability and hands stay separate on purpose. The Skill says what good work looks like. The hand does the doing. Keeping them apart means a Skill can improve without rewiring, and a hand can be shared across many Skills.

Connectors: the special hand

A Connector is one of the seven primitives, the basic parts the whole system is built from. It is a special kind of hand, and it does two things at once.

A Connector is one live link to an outside service, like your email, your calendar, your chat, or your files. The same link is BOTH how the system reads that source AND how it acts on it. Source and tool, in one connection.

That is the whole idea. The same link that lets your Clone learn how you write email is the link that lets it send email as you. It reads to learn, watches to stay current, and acts to do the work. One link, not a separate read pipe and write pipe bolted together.

Your login for that service is held safely outside the chat and outside memory. The credential never appears in conversation, in notes, or anywhere it could leak. The system uses the connection without ever exposing the key.

Connectors are how live work happens. Watching keeps your team current as new things arrive. Acting lets it do real work in the world, like sending, booking, and posting, and it is the path a Request travels out to reach you.

The rule: a hand is wired, never worked around

If an Agent needs a hand to do its job, it gets that hand. A missing tool is added, not avoided.

When a tool is missing, the system says so plainly and gives you options. It never hunts for a password. It never pokes around your machine looking for a way in. It never quietly stalls and hopes you do not notice.

A missing tool is a Report, not a workaround. A Report is the system telling you plainly what happened. This is one of the four things the system does for you:

Run: do the work.
Record: keep track of what was done.
Report: tell you plainly.
Request: ask you for what is needed to proceed, and always bring something concrete: a question, an approval, or finished work with a suggested next step. Never empty-handed.

Tokens and compute: a gauge, not a gate

Doing work uses tokens and compute, the raw fuel an AI burns to think and act. The system keeps an eye on that spend, for visibility and for your control.

But it is a gauge, not a gate. It informs you. It never blocks your progress. A heavy run is a nudge to work smarter, not a wall that stops the work.

That is why this number is reported quietly, beneath the one that matters most: Human Hours Saved, the real time your team gave back to you. The fuel gauge sits under the result. The result is the point.
